一途なものたちが

わたしの同志だ

懸命に鳴く

こおろぎたちよ

地湧*の小さい

この菩薩たちよ

Those who devote themselves to

serving others through good work are my fellow comrades.

Cricket, oh kindred spirit of mine, singing with all your strength,

you are like a small Bodhisattva of the Earth,

an enlightened deity serving others unselfishly.
