Engakuji Temple will hold “Benten Festival” held once every 60 years on Sunday 29 October.

◆ “Parade” takes place on the road in front of the temple gate (9:40-11:45 free).

 

Special entrance fee into Engakuji temple compound is:

2,000 yen (flat fee for every person)

◆ This is a commemorative ticket for that day (29 OCT) only.

◆ The closing ceremony of the “Benten Festival” (12:00-12:30) and the open-air live concert (14:00-16:00) after the festival are open to ticket holders.

◆ The permanent red seal reception desk and store next to the main gate will be closed.

◆ Only special hinoki red seals (¥1,000) are available at the Benten Hall near the national treasure Big Bell.

◆ Depending on the crowds on the day, there may be restrictions on worship area.
